Joe Baumann possesses a PhD in English, with an emphasis in Fiction Writing from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (2014). While there, he served as the editor-in-chief of Rougarou: An Online Literary Journal as well as The Southwestern Review, the university’s student literary journal. He completed his B.A. and M.A. in English at Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri.
Currently, Joe teaches literature and writing at St. Charles Community College in Cottleville, Missouri, where he coordinates the program in creative writing, which offers an Associate of Fine Arts in Creative Writing degree as well as a Certificate of Specialization in Creative Writing. He is also the pathways chair for the humanities at St. Charles Community College and currently serves as Vice President of Technical Operations for AWP’s Two-Year College Caucus in Creative Writing.
